Taalla sita nyt sitten ollaan Fort Williamissa, enka tieda miten tasta nappiksesta saisi meikalaisia kirjaimia aikaiseksi, joten koettakaa kestaa.
Saavuin eilen tanne West Highland Wayn paatepisteeseen, ja otan nyt rennosti ja koetan saada jalkani kuntoon (1 rakko, polvia sarkee ja pohkeet paloivat auringossa koska unohdin laittaa niihin aurinkovoidetta). Saa jatkuu edelleen aurinkoisena, mika allistyttaa kaikkia (Englannissa kuulemma sataa kaatamalla). Nain hienolla saalla olisi upeat nakoalat Ben Nevisin huipulta, mutta minkas teet, ei minusta ole enaa sinne kiipeamaan. Ben Lomond saa riittaa, kiipesin sen huipulle viime tiistaina.
Huomenna sitten Edinburghiin. Tulee ikava Ylamaata. On ollut aivan uskomattoman kaunis ja rauhoittava ja voimistava kokemus kulkea kaikessa rauhassa kaiken sen suurenmoisen luonnon lapi.

Kiitos ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) klai ja pedlo neuvoista. Lontoo vaihtui siis Edinburghiksi, josta löysin ihastuttavan hotellinkin. Tosin menen sitten kuitenkin vielä junalla Lontooseen paluupäivänä, koska hirvitti kaikki se lentämissaastutus, ja loppujen lopuksi se ei ole sen hankalampaa kuin lentää Gatwickiin josta vaihtaa lentokenttää Heathrow'hun. Varmasti viihtyisämpääkin, ja näkee Englantia pohjoisesta etelään.

Ke 21.5. Edelleen Loch Lomondin rantaa Rowardennanista Inverarnaniin
To 22.5. Kävely Inverarnanista Tyndrumiin
Pe 23.5. Kävely Tyndrumista Inveroraniin (jatkaisin Rannoch Moorin yli samana päivänä, mutta yöpaikkojen heikko saatavuus estää sen)
La 24.5. Pitkä kävely Inveroranista Kinlochleveniin - ensin Rannoch Moorin ylitys, sitten Devil's Staircase
Su 25.5. Kävely Kinlochlevenistä Fort Williamiin. Perillä!

Tuossa perjantain ja lauantain välisenä yönä tarvitsisin majapaikan Helsingistä, koska en jaksa lähteä Tampereelle noin myöhään. Vastineeksi yöpaikasta voi sitten saada jotain kivaa skotlantilaista. Kuka ottaisi uupuneen matkamiehen nurkkiinsa? |

| Scotland bound |

A month from now I'll be in Scotland, enjoying my birthday present (the present being the trip itself). My intention on this grand voyage is to spend a day and a half in Glasgow, then walk the West Highland Way (or most of it - I decided to cut a day's travel at the beginning of the Way) up to Fort William, and then enjoy the fruits of civilization for two days in London.
But I'm not so sure about that last bit. It takes a day just to get to London from the north by train. And is there any sense in going to London if it's just for two days, especially when I'm dead tired? I'd like to take it easy after the long (153 km) walk, but maybe I don't need to go to London to take it easy?
I don't want to stay in Fort William for the rest of the trip - it's a bit rugged for luxurious lounging about. Besides, I would get an urge to climb Ben Nevis. So, I could return to Glasgow, but that feels like a boring idea. I could go to Edinburgh, that's good, it's easy to return to Finland from there, too. Or I could go to Inverness. I don't know.
I would be grateful for ideas and advice on this and on the trip in general. |

I haven't been able to sleep since 2 o'clock. Part of it are the motorcycles. Every now and then, an old and noisy one goes past, sounding like a machine gun. They seem to thrive in the hot weather, I guess it's the prime season for them right now. Anyway, between their drive-bys, I heard a bird sing. Once. We came back from the summer cottage a couple of days ago, and it took this long for me to realize the immensity of the difference. Here in the city, I hear motorcycles for hours and only one bird. So, then, the above came out. Who knows where from. Too tired to write it in English. Maybe I can sleep now, now that I have delivered this message? |

was a mysterious God indeed. His very name basically means "what is hidden", "what is not seen", "what cannot be seen", and though even his form was said to be “unknown”, he was depicted as a man with the head of a uraeus (cobra), or a man seated on a throne and holding in one hand the sceptre, and in the other the ankh.

Being responsible for the creation of the world, it is not surprising that he was also the God of fertility, reproduction, and sexual power, and thus also the God of agriculture. With the combined powers of regeneration and royalty, Amun became linked to the sun and the great God Ra, becoming known as Amun-Ra, which pretty much consolidated his status as Supreme God.
In spite of Amun's political ascension, he also enjoyed popularity among the common people of Egypt, who came to call him the vizier of the poor, the protector of the weak, and an upholder of justice.
